I am from Cape Town and love spending time at the beach, reading novels and baking. I recently completed my Masters degree under the supervision of Assoc Prof Sandrine Lecour and will be joining Prof Karen Sliwa as her PhD student in 2013. I studied a BSc degree in Physiology and Genetics, a BSc (MED)(HONS) degree in physiology and a MSc(MED) degree in Medicine at the University of Cape Town. My research interests are to discover innovative cost-effective tools that will attenuate maternal mortality as well as child mortality in developing nations, as well as to create awareness about the health issues facing South Africa from a primary healthcare perspective.
